What to Expect:
Our retreat is designed for both beginners and experienced artists alike, offering a blend of guided instruction and free creative exploration. Led by expert artists Jodie Rose and Helen, you'll have the opportunity to learn the delicate art of pointed pen modern calligraphy and the expressive medium of watercolour floral painting in an inspiring and supportive environment. The day will round off with a relaxing breath work session by Sharon.
Meet Your Hosts:
We are thrilled to have a team of skilled and passionate artists leading our retreat:
Jodie Rose - Jodie Rose Calligraphy: A local modern calligrapher with over 8 years of experience, Jodie will guide you through the fundamentals of beautiful writing. Her 2.5 hour workshop will cover everything from basic strokes to advanced techniques, including flourishing, ensuring that you leave with a solid foundation in the art of modern calligraphy.
Helen - Helen Ridley Illustration: An accomplished watercolour artist and illustrator known for her vibrant use of colour. Helen will teach you the secrets of watercolour painting. Her 2.5 hour workshop will help you understand colour theory, brush techniques, and the unique properties of watercolours to create beautiful florals.
Sharon - Sharon Swyer Breath: The day will finish with a Mindful Breathing Workshop from guest host Sharon. She will give you the tools to explore breathing exercises to ground and relax you at the end of a serene and inspiring day.
