Live Event FAQs
Which areas do you cover?
- I provide my live event artist services in London, Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.
- I am based in North Hampshire RG27, close to the Surrey and Berkshire border.
- For large events, I am happy to travel further afield.
What set up do you need at the venue?
- I require a chair and a sturdy, flat table, no smaller than 60x60cm.
- Good lighting is required - I will bring a portable lamp if lighting is poor.
- If I am required to keep the products next to me throughout the event, for clients to collect once completed, I will also need adequate space for me to sort these, which will allow my working area to remain clear.
- A space to have a clipboard with the form for customers to fill out their engraving requests.
Please also think about a separate space for signage if you are providing any.
- Please let me know ahead of the event if the area is cold (i.e outdoors with no heater) or hot (outdoors with no shade).
How long does it take to engrave a single word?
- Approx. 5 minutes - to allow for interacting with the client, opening the item, drafting with pen, engraving over the draft, applying the wax pigment, cleaning up the item, repackaging.
- This process can be shortened if an assistant is working along side me to manage the engraving request form, to open and repackage the items and to engage fully with the customers. This allows me to focus solely on the artistry.
Can you arrange an assistant or second artist?
Yes, I can arrange to bring along an assistant to help manage the engraving request form, to open and repackage the items and to engage fully with the customers. Equally, I'm happy if you are able to arrange an assistant to help me at the event.
Yes, with enough notice, I can arrange for a second calligraphy/engraving artist to work along side me. Second artists are required for very busy events to provide a sleek experience for your customers and to limit waiting time.
Can you vary your calligraphy script style to suit the customer or the event?
Absolutely. My usual style is modern calligraphy with flourishes - but I can remove the flourishing, make it more casual or more formal, create block letters for initials etc.
