Over two creative and inspiring days, I had the wonderful opportunity to share my love of nib and ink calligraphy with the staff at Heckfield Place in Hampshire.
There is something so special about taking time out of a busy working day to slow down, get creative and learn a completely new skill. Over the two days, I introduced everyone to the beautiful art of pointed pen calligraphy, guiding each person through the basics of using a nib, pen holder and ink.
We started with the foundations, practising the basic strokes and getting used to the pressure and movement needed to create those beautiful thick and thin lines. From there, everyone progressed onto letterforms, joining letters together and creating their own words and pieces of modern calligraphy.
Each attendee received their own calligraphy kit to use during the workshop and take home afterwards. This included detailed worksheets, a nib, pen holder, ink and a personalised bag, giving everyone everything they needed to continue practising their new skills.
It was lovely to see everyone grow in confidence over the sessions and develop their own individual style. My workshops are always designed to be relaxed and easy-going, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace and enjoy the creative process.
