What’s the Christmas Calligraphy Retreat all about?
On Sunday 7th December 2025, we’ll gather at The Garden Gallery, Museum of Farnham for a full-day retreat dedicated to the art of brush-pen calligraphy with a Christmassy twist.
Whether you’re a total beginner or have dabbled in lettering before, this retreat is designed to inspire, teach, and soothe.

Is this suitable for left-handed people? Yes — many successful calligraphers are left-handed.

Do I need any experience? Not at all. This retreat is ideal for both complete beginners and those with some familiarity.

What if my handwriting is “bad”? Modern calligraphy is more like drawing — you’ll learn the strokes in a slow, mindful way, and your usual handwriting won’t hold you back.

Venue & accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available around the area (check for free Sunday parking on West Street).

Cancellation / transfers: Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer your place to someone else or (with enough notice) I’ll try to resell your ticket from a waitlist.
